A positive weekend for the team at PFI, for the final round of the British Kart Championships.
The team contested with two entries into the Junior Rotax category. The damp conditions led to a difficult qualifying for Pravilonis, leaving him 21st in group and 42nd overall. Having had much practice in the wet conditions, Blantford excelled to end up 5th in group and 9th overall.
Pravilonis faced yet more difficulty with a penalty in Heat 1 and a challenging Heat 2. The heat results combined meant he would start almost last in the repecharge. An early penalty meant the result was unrecoverable and resulted in an early finish to his weekend, rounding out in 18th.
Blantford backed his qualifying result with an impressive performance in the qualifying heats. Starting 9th overall in the pre-final and crossing the line 11th, a penalty dropped him to 15th. After an early tussle in the final, Blantford crossed the line in 14th.
The team re-groups after a brief visit to South Garda Karting for SODI Factory testing and heads to Whilton Mill for round 9 of the championship.
